Day 3

Covenant and Sign

Devotional

After the flood, Noah stepped into a world washed clean, and the first thing he did was build an altar. Worship was his response to salvation. God, pleased with the offering, made a covenant with Noah and all living creatures, promising that they would never be destroyed by a flood again. The rainbow became the visible sign of this unbreakable promise. In a world still learning how to hope again, God planted a reminder that His mercy endures and His word can be trusted.

But even after judgment and renewal, humanity’s heart remained proud. At Babel, people sought to build their name rather than reflect God’s. They longed to control, to reach heaven without submission. In response, God scattered them. Yet even this scattering was grace. The division set the stage for something more significant. A calling that would one day gather all nations again under his name.
