Read: Genesis 42-43

Devotional

The brothers who once betrayed Joseph now bow before him, unaware of who stands before them. The dream Joseph had as a boy is fulfilled, but instead of triumph, there is trembling. The past is not forgotten, but neither is it weaponized. Joseph weeps. There is pain in seeing his brothers again, and yet a quiet hope awakens.

This story is not only about Joseph’s ascent, but it is also about reconciliation. God is softening hearts, stirring consciences, and preparing a family to become a nation. And it begins not with a celebration, but with famine, fear, and famine-born courage. God’s providence isn’t just about provision. His providence is also about preparing people for restoration.
