- Find a comfortable seated or lying-down position.
- Close your eyes to help focus inward.
- Using the different options select a duration, 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes.
- Select a voice of your choosing.
- Select the breathing exercise seconds. If you are knew to this, start with 4 seconds for each.
- Hit start.
- There is a music track at the bottom if you would like something playing in the background.
- It will be challenging to inhale as slow as you exhale.
Why you inhale faster: Inhaling is generally faster than exhaling because when you breathe in, your diaphragm muscle actively contracts to create a vacuum and pull air into your lungs, requiring muscular effort, while exhaling primarily relies on the passive relaxation of the diaphragm, allowing air to naturally flow out, making it a slower process; essentially, muscles are needed to inhale, but not to exhale.
