For fourteen years, Park Jaeyeol, who runs Nymphman Bedding and Curtains in the traditional market of Gochang County, has quietly prepared for winter, not just for himself, but for others. Each year, without fail, he donates blankets to neighbours in need, asking for nothing in return.

This winter was no different. Park gave one hundred blankets, which were distributed through Gochang County officials and the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea. The timing mattered. The cold had just begun to settle in, and the blankets reached low-income households that might have otherwise gone without them. Park said, I hope this warmth helps people get through the cold season a little more comfortably.

Mayor Sung Duk-seob and other local leaders offered heartfelt thanks, calling Park’s actions a reflection of true community spirit. It was not the kind of moment that makes national headlines. But in one hundred quiet homes, someone felt seen and remembered. And sometimes that is enough.
