A Polish man is walking down the beach when he comes across a bottle in the sand. The Polish man picks it up and, thinking there might be something delicious in it, rubs his sleeve on the mouth of the bottle, and a genie comes out. The Genie says to the Polish man, “Since you have released me, I shall grant you three wishes. The Polish man thinks for a moment before saying to the genie, “I wish the Mongols should invade Poland.” The genie, thinking his wish is odd, asks him, “Are you sure?” The man replies, “Yes, the Mongols should invade Poland.” The genie grants him his wish, and the Mongols make their way over Poland, murdering and plundering, then they leave. The genie asks the man, “What is your second wish?” The Polish man says to the genie, “I wish the Mongols should invade Poland.” The genie, thinking the man is insane, asks, “Are you sure?” The man replies, “Yes, the Mongols should invade Poland.” The genie agrees, and the Mongols come and murder and pillage Poland again, then leave. The genie asks the man, “What is your third wish?” And the man wishes for money, liquor, or something else unimportant. Before being freed, the genie turns to the man and asks, “Sir, I have but one question. Why did you ask for Poland to be invaded by the Mongols not once but twice?” “Ah!” Said the man, “They invaded Poland twice…. But they crossed Russia four times.”
