Day 11

Favor and the Furnace

Devotional

Joseph’s journey continues in Egypt, but it’s no straight path upward. Though he finds favour in Potiphar’s house, he’s wrongly accused and cast into prison. Even there, God is with him. He interprets dreams and serves faithfully, yet he’s forgotten by the very person he helped.

These chapters are rich with contradiction: favoured but falsely accused, gifted but imprisoned, remembered by God but forgotten by people. It’s here we see that favour doesn’t mean ease. It means presence, God’s unshakable presence, even in the furnace of waiting, confusion, or injustice. Joseph’s story reminds us that delay is not denial, and silence is not absence of action. God is still writing.
